Leading with Experience
Having a voracious appetite for learning and being involved, Lynn brings a wealth of experience from such varied fields as Health Care, Education, Business & Finance, Fine Arts, Athletics, Ministry, and Community Service, including strong Military ties in her immediate family. This vast mix of education and experience allows her to approach complex issues from many perspectives giving flexibility, understanding, and depth to problem solving.
Infrastructure Before Growth
Can our state handle the energy and water needs of these huge data centers? Are we overbuilding without keeping up with the safety and maintenance of existing roads and bridges? Lynn believes that the right laws and guidelines can protect South Carolina’s beauty and resources while still welcoming responsible growth, but we have to stop putting the cart before the horse.
Education
The last 20+ years of GOP led policies in this state have failed to lift South Carolina’s ranking in education out of the bottom ten. The bottom ten! We know that lower education leads to increases in crime, poverty, and health problems and decreases opportunities and innovation. All these things are costing us millions in taxes. Let’s spend the money in lifting education rather than dealing with the consequences of poor education. Raising teacher salaries and changing a voucher system rife with fraud and abuse will benefit us all AND save us money.
Stop Wasting Time and Money with the Divisive Politics
As South Carolinians are dealing with real problems created by the rising costs of housing, food, and gas, and as a state that ranks high in crime, violence, infant mortality, maternal mortality and ranks low in income and benefits, education, and public safety - we’re wasting too much time and money on issues used for deliberate manipulation by the media, special interests, and party politics. We can probably all agree on many things: open borders are not safe, the second amendment gives us the right to own guns, but doesn’t prevent us from designing laws for the safe storage of weapons so children don’t accidently shoot themselves, ID should be required to vote (and South Carolina already has some of the strictest voting requirements in the nation), statistics prove that increased education decreases the abortion rate, and lying, bullying and sex abuse is wrong for any person, let alone an elected leader. I’m not here to fight national culture wars – I’m here to fix local and state problems.
